At Emmanuel we have lots of Groups & Activities – they are a great way to get involved in Church life and get to know people both in the Emmanuel and local community.

Games, crafts, stories and food for Primary School age children. £2 donation per child.

SELAM on Tuesdays – 10:00am til 11:30am – Emmanuel Centre
SELAM is an English language class for women, run by women. It is a warm, friendly, informal class for all abilities. All women are welcome, whatever your English-level – we have a creche for children under 5 who are welcome to come with you. The cost is £1 and includes refreshments. Tuesday at Two – 2:00pm til 4:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (main hall) & Emmanuel Church (Watney room)
Tuesday at 2 is open to all in our community and many find it a place of support and encouragement. At Emmanuel many of our Seniors gravitate towards the Tuesday at 2 service, which is a more Traditional worship service that happens every other week along with some other activities.

Toddlers – 10:00am til 11:30am – Emmanuel Centre (main hall)
Emmanuel Toddlers is for pre-schoolers and their parents and carers. Toddlers is a thriving community and a fantastic place to meet and make new friends. There are a variety of rooms, for different activities, ranging from a quiet room for books and gentle play, to a larger room where there are play houses and ride-on toys. There is also a room for craft and puzzles! Hot and cold drinks, biscuits, fruit and toast are all available for you and your toddler to enjoy. Wednesday Hangout – 7:00pm til 8:15pm – Emmanuel Church
For those in school years 6-9 during term time. Play games, eat delicious homemade cakes and explore some of the big questions about God together! No booking required but you do need to register on the door.
Prayer at the Centre – 8:00pm til 9:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (G1) & on zoom
Come and join us as we bring the needs of our church and the Emmanuel community to our heavenly Father in prayer. We meet on 2nd Wednesday of the month either in person or online. See calendar for upcoming dates.
Badminton Club – 8:00pm til 11pm – Emmanuel Centre (main hall)
The Badminton Club is always pleased to consider new members. If you play currently or haven’t played for a while please do contact us to find out more details about our club. In addition to club evenings, we endeavour to enter teams into local badminton leagues. We meet between early September and mid-June. The fees are £70 for members, £40 for Juniors (21 and under). £3 per night for occasional visitors. Contact roger.penn@lineone.net.

Ladies Badminton – 1:30pm til 3:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (main hall)
A ladies-only badminton session running on Thursday afternoons in term time. Cost per session is £4. Whether you’ve not played for a long time or prefer to play at a more sedate pace, please feel free to come along and join us. We play for fun and to enjoy making new friends. Bumps and Babies – 2:00pm til 4:00pm – Emmanuel Church (Watney room)
Bumps and Babies is a group for mums and dads to come along and meet other parents of little ones little ones aged up to 18 months. It offers a space to chat with other parents, make friends and swap stories. There are baby toys available and mats for the babies to lie on. We guarantee a warm welcome, with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, and activities ranging from a simple ‘toys and chat’ to special taster sessions, e.g. baby sign and baby massage, footprint and pottery painting. The group runs on Thursday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm during term time. We ask for donations of £1 to cover costs. Come along and visit us at any time.
Rooted – 7:30pm til 9:00pm – Emmanuel Church (Watney room)
Rooted: A place to study the bible, pray, and build friendships, all leading to deep discipleship, rooted in Jesus.
Rooted is our small group for those aged 18-30s at Emmanuel. We meet from 7:30pm for coffee, tea, and cake, followed by a bible study and discussion, wrapping up with a time of prayer. For more details please contact David and Esther who lead the group at david.griffin@emmanuelcroydon.org.uk.
Table Tennis Club – 8:00pm til 10:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (main hall)
Renew Lounge – 10:00am til 5:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (gallery)
Join us in our friendly space where everyone is welcome with a free lunch every week! The Emmanuel Renew Well-Being Lounge is one of many national Renew spaces billed as quiet shared cafe-style spaces, where “it’s ok not to be ok”. If you’re lonely, struggling with your mental health, or just looking for a community in a warm space join us! Activities include: craft, reading, games & jigsaws. Featuring the Bereavement Circle on the 2nd Friday each month.
Friday Fitness – 10:30am til 12:00pm – Emmanuel Centre (main hall)
This group for older people lives up to its name, combining exercise and friendliness with plenty of fun! The group takes place in the Emmanuel Centre on Friday mornings at 10.30am, and everyone is welcome, regardless of their initial fitness. Storytime – 3:30pm til 4:30pm – Emmanuel Centre
For Primary school children to come and enjoy stories after school. Parents can enjoy a chat with a cup of tea and biscuits. We look forward to welcoming you! Every Friday in term time.
Friday Rock – 6:00pm til 7:30pm – Emmanuel Centre – Biweekly
Friday Rock is a popular, fun-filled, action packed group for children in school years 3 – 6. We’ll have sports, crafts, games and “spotlight”: a chance to explore who Jesus is. We run fortnightly on Friday in the Emmanuel Centre between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. There’s a completely optional contribution of £2 per session.
Saturdads – 9:30am til 11:00am – Emmanuel Centre – 1st Saturday of the month
Saturdads is for dads, grandads and male carers with children between the ages of 0 – 7 years. Saturdads offers bacon butties, newspapers, toys, games and craft. There is plenty to do and gives you the chance to spend time with your children whilst giving your other half the morning off. All for the bargain price of £2 per child! Caring for Church Grounds – 2:00pm til 4:00pm – 2nd Saturday of the month
Members of the Emmanuel ECO Group smarten up and maintain the church grounds and those around the centre. Come and join them on the second Saturday of the month any time from 2pm. The group would welcome any help – just turn up with gloves and tools if you can and they will find jobs to do, suitable for all ages and skills.
Lighthouse – 5:30pm til 7:00pm – Emmanuel Centre – 2nd Saturday of the month

10am Morning Service – 10:00am – Emmanuel Church

Bring & Share lunch – after the 10am Service – Emmanuel Centre – 1st Sunday of the month
Every 1st Sunday of the month we share a lunch together. This communal meal fosters fellowship and provides a simple way for us to connect and enjoy food together as a wider church family. If we have newcomers that day or you have forgotten to bring something, please do still come along, we would love to see you.
6pm Evening Service – 6:00pm – Emmanuel Church
Sung worship, prayer, readings and a sermon, with a more contemporary feel. Our youth and young adults tend to gravitate towards this service.
Evening Prayer – 8:15pm – Emmanuel Church
Our Evening Prayer service takes place on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 8.15pm in the Main Church after the evening service. Do join us for a time of liturgy, silence, prayer and stillness.
