Emmanuel is blessed with wonderful buildings which enable us to be a blessing to our community.
Church
Emmanuel Church was opened in 1897, funded by the Watney Sisters whose family ran the brewery firm Watney & Co. Over the years the interior of the church has been furnished with high quality sound, visual and lighting equipment which facilitate both our traditional and contemporary worship.
Watney Room
In 2001 the main church building was extended to add the Watney Room, foyer and church offices. The Watney Room is frequently used for church and events including our creche for under-3s during our Sunday services.
Emmanuel Centre
The Emmanuel Centre was opened in January 2018 by the Bishop of Croydon.
Located opposite the church, the Centre is a hub of activity helping us to create, sustain and nurture an inclusive community throughout the week, drawn together by our desire to know and follow Jesus.
We want the Centre to serve our congregations and the local community – supporting, transforming, sustaining and inspiring all those who come through our doors. Whether through hosting long running activities and events, or the creation of new groups and activities, it is our hope that this will be a space that all can enjoy and benefit from.
The Centre is available for regular and one-off external bookings. All our buildings are fully accessible.
The Centre is well located opposite Emmanuel Church and St Peter’s school, with free on-street parking and is well served by public transport (South Croydon train station and 412/64/433 bus routes).
The Emmanuel Centre offers a suite of modern rooms of various shapes and sizes.
The main hall is 14.9×11.6m, perfect for sports/fitness activities, parties and large meetings – with plenty of room for a bouncy castle or game of football.
The adjacent kitchen is large and fully-equipped to commercial standards, with an oven, fridge, freezer and trolleys making catering for your event easy.
We also have a 6 other rooms of varying sizes & furniture – some carpeted, some with wipeable floors – suitable for a wide range of bookings: community groups, trustee meetings, training events, baby groups, café-style groups and many others.
Our facilities include wheelchair access, baby-changing, WIFI, large TV screens on request, commercial kitchen, tables & chairs (including infant sizes), flip-chart stands etc.

The Emmanuel Centre is available daytime and in the evenings throughout each week for regular and one-off external bookings. For weekend party bookings please check the availability click the calendar box above, before making an enquiry.
- Please note that we only accept party bookings for those aged 11 or under.
- Please note Sunday bookings are only available from 1pm.
