Getting married at Emmanuel Croydon
If you are already a regular worshipper with us, or if you live within the Emmanuel Parish, you are very welcome to get married here at Emmanuel.
Come along to one of our Sunday services and introduce yourselves to us. They we can arrange for one of the clergy to come and visit with you, and start making the arrangements.
If you would like more details please contact the church office.
The publication of marriage banns is a legal requirement within the Church of England. It is the public announcement that two people wish to marry, and gives a chance for anyone in the congregation to put forward a reason why the wedding should not take place. The banns are usually read out during a normal church service
Your banns will only need to be read at Emmanuel if you are getting married at Emmanuel, or if the wedding is elsewhere and you live in the streets in the Emmanuel Parish.
If you need us to read your banns for your wedding at another church, please contact the church office, using the details on the right, at least four months before your wedding day. There is a small fee payable.
The banns will be read at our 9.15am Sunday service for three weeks in a row.
