Emmanuel’s Parochial Church Council (PCC) have created a Special Cost of Living Fund to help support people impacted by the cost of living crisis.

This follows the example of the early church as outlined in Acts 4:32-35:

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales  and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Purpose of the Fund

The Special Cost of Living Fund will be used to pay heating bills for people, purchase groceries for people, purchase clothing and other essential items.

Administration of the Fund

The Special Cost of Living Fund will be administered under the authority of the PCC.

An example of why you might give to the fund:

Currently Energy suppliers are reducing everyone’s energy bills by £400 through the Government Grant.

If people feel they can manage without using this £400 they could donate this to the Special Cost of Living fund. If the contribution can be “Gift Aided” this would be increased to £500 and would be available to help members in our community struggling with increased costs.
