Every 6 years the Church of England requires each church to compile a new Electoral Roll from scratch.  2019 is such a year and you are invited to apply to be on the Electoral Roll of Emmanuel Church.

Why it matters

Being on the Electoral Roll is important if you want to take part in the governance of Emmanuel. Only people registered on the Electoral Roll can:

  • Vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which this year is on the 28th April;
  • Consider standing for the Parochial Church Council (PCC) or take part in the elections for PCC and Deanery Synod members.

Who is eligible

To qualify to be on the Roll you must be a lay person (not an ordained Vicar), over 16 years of age on 28th April 2019, resident in the parish of Emmanuel or have habitually attended services at Emmanuel in the last 6 months. More information is given on the attached form.

What you need to do

Please print off the attached Electoral Roll form, complete and sign it, and return it to the church office no later than Sunday 7th April 2019.  (The Church of England requires that we have hard copies of the forms with original signatures, so we are sorry that we cannot accept electronic copies.) Copies are also available at both church entrances.

Data privacy

Our Privacy Statement can be found here and paper copies are available in church.
