Trevor made this announcement at church on Sunday 11th March. Please pray for Trevor and Laura as they prepare to move.
After 16 years as vicar of Emmanuel I will be leaving in the summer to take up the post of Priest-in-Charge of St Mary’s, Caterham-on-the-hill.
This has come about after a period of prayer, discernment and conversations with trusted friends and I am sure that this is God’s leading both for me and for Emmanuel. The timing feels right and I believe that God has new things in store for us all.
I feel genuinely excited at the opportunities that will come with serving in a church and community which is very different from Emmanuel. It will stretch me and enable me to grow in new areas of ministry.
It has been a real privilege to serve as vicar of Emmanuel. You really are a unique and an amazing church. In 16 years together we’ve shared so much and I hope that the coming months will be filled with gratitude and celebration. God has been good to us.
We don’t have a leaving date yet, but it will be some time in the summer. So I’ll be your vicar for a few months yet. It’s going to be an emotional time for us all, but God is in it and will bless us through it.
Grace and peace,
Trevor
