Lighthouse DCF – new group for young adults
11th September 2018
The Lighthouse Disabled Christian fellowship (DCF) group is a new group born of the need to have somewhere for Waggy Tails adults to move onto. Aimed at a younger demographic than the existing DCF group; Lighthouse will be a beacon to introduce and nurture those with a disability and their carers to Jesus, sharing his love for all as we become a more inclusive church.
Meeting weekly on a Wednesday evening from 6:30pm to 8pm during term time in the Watney room, we will introduce, share and explore Jesus, faith, fellowship and bible teaching. Each meeting will include refreshments and meal for us to share together. The first session will take place on Wednesday 12th September! We are anticipating that the group will have between 20 and 40 members by September, word is spreading fast!
Please prayerfully consider if you can help; this is a fantastic opportunity to witness; we are in need of volunteers to join our rota, if you could spare a couple of hours once a week, or month, half term or termly we would be extremely grateful and love to hear from you. Help required in the following areas:
- Set up/set down
- Cooking/shopping etc
- Serving refreshments and food
- Speakers to do a 5 minute talk/ presentation with questions and/or linked short activity (15 minutes max).
- Chatty people to help welcome and settle members.
