In a service of thanksgiving we thank God for the birth of a child and pray for God’s blessing on the child and the parents. Unlike baptism, the parents are not required to make any vows or public declaration of faith. Parents can appoint ‘supporting friends’ who promise to help parents in bringing up the child.

To find out more about baptisms or thanksgiving please introduce yourself to one of the clergy at a Sunday service and we can talk with you about this further. You might find the following information from the Church of England helpful – churchofenglandchristenings.org
