Every week at Emmanuel we celebrate the radical generosity of our God.
At the centre of all that we do we celebrate the message in Galatians 2:20, God ‘loved me and gave himself for me’. We celebrate God’s amazing, undeserved grace each Sunday together. But Sundays are just the spring board for how we live the rest of the week.
Emmanuel is a daily hub of activity as we seek to serve and share Jesus love with those living in our community. Over the course of the year we welcome over 4,000 people to the various activities that take place in the church hall. From keep fit classes to a safe place for women who have recently moved here to learn English, our hall has been a place where everyone is welcome to join in and have fun, but increasingly we have been limited by the space and deteriorating facilities in the church hall. So in 2017, 120 years after the Watney sisters first started building Emmanuel, we are building again!
After a year of fundraising, where we have seen incredible generosity from our congregation raising £1.8m of our build cost in a year, the builders moved in in April 2017. All the activities that have previously gone on in our Hall have mostly moved over to the church while we rebuild. It is a very visual demonstration of what Emmanuel Church is about. Worshiping God by serving others, sharing God’s love in very practical way.
We want and need you to be a part of this project!
Please pray for the work that we are undertaking. you can see the latest hall update, with prayer updates here.
And we still have some more fundraising to do! We are very grateful for the incredibly generous donations and sacrifices that people have made to donate so willingly, but there is still a way to go. You can donate to the project at:
