Liz White
Liz is on a year's placement with New Frontiers and is working for a church in Somerset West, South Africa.
She is involved with various projects for children, young people and women's groups.
Liz has also got involved with a number of community projects in Somerset West focusing on the needs of the poorer Xhosa community of Lwandle township.
She spends a lot of time at Emyezweni (means "Garden of Eden") pre-school which has 75 children aged between 2 and 6 years old. The children come from difficult family situations of poverty and illness (about 1/3 of the children in the township have HIV/Aids) and the pre-school offers them the chance to play and learn and also eat two good meals.
