Walking Club
We would like to invite you to join the above group which is for anyone interested in exploring some of the most outstanding and excellent countryside in our locality and further afield.
The purpose of the group is to provide excellent walks that would appeal to anyone who would like to go to these events. We cover areas such as downland and woodland in Kent and Surrey, which means some walks can be challenging, canal walks in London, and local parkland walks which are more appropriate for those with buggies and young children. The ethos of the group is to visit wonderful areas throughout the year. The walks are available at no cost although we would appreciate a small fuel contribution when certain of our walking friends take their cars to the walk start, if travelling with them. There is sometimes a pub stop half way round and a tea shop at the end of the walk. Other times we would take a pack lunch. We also endeavour to provide some local history and interesting facts on the walk where appropriate. All the walks are carefully researched to ascertain distances and level of difficulty.
The benefits of the walks are obvious; fresh air, good exercise, a chance to observe stunning views and vistas and they are a great chance to meet people and make new friends. We attract a mix of people, and welcome both genders and all ages. Dogs are also welcome as they help to lead the way! No-one is excluded.
We look forward very much to sharing these wonderful places with you in the near future. Updated details of forthcoming walks will be posted as they become available.
If you want to know more about what we do, or would like to join us on the next walk please contact the church office.
Next walk
No matter what your age or fitness level , we hope to provide a walk for you. If anyone has any ideas for walks in 2012 they have done or would like to research with us they are most welcome to talk to us about them.
