Other social groups
Eleven O'Clock Club
This is a club that particularly attracts the congregation of the eleven o'clock service, hence the name. They meet in the church foyer for coffee, followed by a recital or talk, and then retire over the road to the Church Hall for lunch. Occasionally the group will take a trip on a cultural visit. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, and offer excellent value for money at £4 for the whole event.
Folk Dance Club
This club provides two hours of friendship, music, exercise and fun – the essence of folk dancing today. Each dance set is explained, walked through, the caller prompting throughout the dance.
The meetings are held in the Emmanuel Church Hall every other Tuesday from 2pm.
New members, couples or singles, particularly beginners, are always welcome.
Respite Group
The Respite Group is a meeting point for people suffering from memory loss in various forms, usually dementia or stroke related. Living with dementia can be very isolating for the sufferer but also for their supporters, and meeting other couples can bring a sense of relief in shared experience. Please contact the church office 8688 6676 for the date of the next meeting.
Open Home
A social group for ladies. Meets fortnightly on a Monday at 2.30pm at various locations.
Please contact the church office for further details regarding any of the above activities.
