Saturday 16th November saw 55 seven to eleven year olds descend on the church hall for our very first Friday Night Project Saturday Sleepover!
We started by having dinner together before heading over to the ‘Watney Cinema’ where we scoffed yet more food (freshly made popcorn – yum!) whilst laughing our heads of watching Monster’s University. Then we spent a couple of hours enjoying six different zones, where we pampered ourselves by painting nails, having a face mask, or enjoying a foot spa! The sport zone was always popular with the children versus leaders dodgeball being a firm favourite! Craft, board games, computer games and chill out zones made sure there was something for everyone. Then after a hot chocolate and hearing a story from the Bible it was time to dig out the roll mats and sleeping bags and cosy up for the night!
The next morning we emerged bleary eyed after some(!) sleep and wandered up to the woods to blow away the cobwebs.
What was perhaps the most exciting part of the weekend was seeing 50 extra children coming along to our 9.15 service on Sunday morning and joining forces with The Rock! What an amazing privilege to spend time with these brilliant children and show them just a glimpse of the love of God. We are thoroughly exhausted but absolutely cannot wait until next time!
Check out these amazing memories:
